Blue Christmas is a time for quiet reflection. It is a service created specifically for those of us that find the holiday season difficult, whether it be because we have lost someone, or we struggle with the busyness and activity of this time of year.

We are so happy to announce that we are once again offering Fellowship after our regular Sunday Services!
To celebrate, this week Derry and Trish have been busy making chili and soup to serve. Everyone is welcome to join us to catch up and chat while enjoying a delicious meal. Tables will be placed to allow for physical distancing between visitors. We look forward to seeing and chatting with you! Mark your calendars, because we have a date set for our Drive-Thru Turkey Pie and Bake Sale! It will be on Saturday, November 27th from 2 - 4 pm.
We are hoping for another successful bake sale, so please read below for instructions on how to help things go smoothly:
For the past few years, the First United Church has been participating in a Reverse Advent Calendar to collect items for our local Food Bank.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people that access our local Food Bank is at an all-time high and as a result, the Salvation Army is in need of extra assistance in making sure they are able to reach everyone that needs it. As a result, this year, we are going a bit further and extending the Month of Giving to also include November. It is hoped that the Month of Giving, in addition to our regular weekly and monthly collection items, will help increase the amount of items that we regularly donate. The calendars are posted below for anyone wishing to participate in this project. Items can be collected on a weekly basis in church. If you are attending our online services, please phone the church to arrange for a time to drop-off. |
